Ridley Scott’s Prometheus gets a release date

For those not in the know, the Alien franchise is about to join every other movie franchise out there and get a prequel. I know, I know, groans all round, but think about it for a minute… an Alien prequel. Directed by Ridley Scott. Now tell me you’re not interested.

To this, add a pretty awesome cast consisting of Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce and I’m pretty stoked. Can’t bloody wait!

Prometheus is due for release in the UK on the 1st June 2012, and the US on the 8th June. No word on the Australian release date yet.

  1. Im a big fan of the Alien franchise. Im guessing Scott is probably returning to his roots as his last few movies: Robin Hood and Body of Lies have not been that well received. American Gangster i thought was so so. Im guessing he wants a monster hit along the same lines as Gladiator and the original Alien.
