There’s considerable excitement brewing over the new Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained.
And not without good reason of course – the genius mind behind such modern classics as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction made a welcome return to form in 2009 with Inglorious Basterds (some may argue that he never lost his form…), and his newest project promises much.
In typical Tarantino style we get an excellent cast list consisting of today’s biggest stars sprinkled with a healthy dose of yesterday’s screen stars and the odd cult figure thrown in. How does Leonardo di Caprio, Jamie Foxx, Christophe Waltz, Samuel L Jackson, Sacha Baren Cohen, Kurt Russell and Don Johnson sound?
As far as the story, this from IMDb, “Former dentist, Dr. King Schultz, buys the freedom of a slave, Django, and trains him to become his deputy bounty hunter. Instead, he is led to the site of Django’s wife who is under the hands of Calvin Candie, a ruthless plantation owner.”
As for release dates, Django Unchained will hit theatres in the US on the 25th December 2012, the UK on the 18th January 2013 and Australia on the 26th January 2013.
